Space Availability - Academic Resource Center (ARC) Study Rooms

The Academic Resource Center (ARC) has study rooms available, which may be reserved for up to two hours per student per day. Reservations are required. The ARC is happy to provide dedicated study space to help students succeed in their classes. In addition to study rooms, please utilize the ARC’s award-winning tutoring services. For more information visit the ARC Study Lounge in LARC 226 (2nd floor of the library building).

To ensure that our community of LAVC students receive the maximum benefit from the Study Rooms, please observe the following policies.

Disclaimer: The Academic Resource Center reserves the right to amend or cancel your booking at any time. You can only use the Study Rooms during the Study Lounge hours of operation.

When a Study Room is Reserved, Everyone Using the Room Agrees to the Following...

RESERVATIONS

  • To gain access to the rooms, you will need to know your student ID number, student email, and have an official PHOTO ID. You need to present your Official PHOTO ID issued by government, college (LACCD or other), or local high school and your booking confirmation email to the ARC Study Lounge in LARC 226.
  • Reservations are limited to 2 hours per day, per person making the reservation. Need more than 2 hours? Have someone else in your group make an additional booking.
  • If you arrive later than 15 minutes after reservation start time, your reservation will be cancelled.
  • If you are going to be late, please call (818) 947-7263 to avoid cancelling your booking.
  • Keep track of your time and clear out the room before your reservation ends.

PEOPLE IN THE ROOM

  • Students must supply their own dry erase markers. We will supply whiteboard erasers.
  • Do not leave your room unattended.
  • Do not exceed maximum capacity (stated on reservation page and in the room itself).
  • Do not cover or block windows or doors.
  • You must vacate the room 10 minutes before the Study Lounge closes.
  • You are allowed to stay in the study room beyond your reservation if no one has reserved the room.

RESPECTING THE SPACE

  • Report any damage in the room immediately to the Study Lounge front desk, or you will be held responsible.
  • Rooms must be left tidy and clean after use: please request sanitizing wipes available at the Study Lounge Front Desk.
  • Smoking and vaping are not allowed.

RULES VIOLATIONS

Violation of room policy (i.e., conduct -- detailed below under "When a study room is reserved...")

  • After 3 study room policy violations are documented in their account, students lose reservation privileges for the rest of the semester.
